My 1st Mother's Day-Awe

Well, yesterday was a great day for me. While many people are of the opinion that I am not a mom yet b/c Brady isn't here...well, poo on them! =) My husband doesn't feel that way and that is all that matters!! =) I woke up yesterday morning to Mike talking to my belly, I hear him say "oh, you want me to go get them? ok!" He jumps out of bed, brushes his teeth and flies out to the garage. When he comes back in, he tells me from another room "Brady was supposed to wrap these and he didn't...!" He walks in with one big box and one small bag. Hands me the big box telling me it's from him. MY KEURIG coffee pot I have wanted forever!!! YAY!! Then the small bag, I am told is from my baby boy, it's a ring...from James Avery. Mike, I mean Brady, did so good...he took my wedding band to the store to get an idea of size. I haven't been able to wear my wedding rings=( in quite a few months so it's been in Mike's safe. So sneaky! I was given "a mother's love" ring and when B is born, his initials and birthday will be engraved on the inside of the ring. I JUST LOVE IT!! It has to be THE sweetest thing Mike has ever done for me.

I hope everyone had an amazing mother's day, too!! XOXO

Holy Honeydew!!!

Baby's now the size of a honeydew! From now on, baby's growth is mostly in the plumping up department -- though he won't get much longer, he'll put on a pound or more of baby fat before birth. (He's about 15 percent right now and will be about 30 percent by full-term.) His hearing is totally developed (tip: baby responds best to higher pitches), and if he really is a "he," his testes have probably completed their descent.
{NOTE: Jumbo baby is WAY bigger tahn 5.8 lbs!}

Not that I am counting or anything =)...but I can't wait for another 33 days to pass so that I can meet my baby boy!! I am pretty sure he is already a toddler in there! How can a baby be so strong that he makes your whole body move when he jumps, kicks, bangs, etc? HOW!?! =)

Pregnancy: 35 weeks

Weight Gain: {haha - NICE TRY}

Sleep: I feel so tired, but I haven't been sleeping all that well. It's really hard to get comfortable

Gender: JUMBO Baby B.O.Y

Name: Brayden Lane

Feeling: Ready...physically anyhow. I am not mentally prepared and his room still has some organizing it needs done.

Health: BP is high for the first time in my life. I have stage IV pitting edema, which isn't fun and hurts like hell...but other than that, we are doing great. Just moving slower and trying hard not to over do it.

Movement: He is a crazy man!!! He is more active now than he has ever been...even with such little room. I am really considering changing his name to ROWDY, I tell ya!

Belly: Large & in charge. No stretch marks, thank God...and knock.on.wood!! He is dropping though, so I have a feeling they are on their way. =(

Next Appointment: Monday, May 17th (it should be next Monday, but they messed up and I am not going to correct them!! Driving from Cypress to The Woodlands to Downtown to Cypress in a day can make for one tired prego!!)
That's all for now and my guess is that, unless something major takes place, I won't be updating this again...you know, since I am so good at it...until B has made his debut.

Next?!

It's been a while since my last post, mainly because there hasn't been too much to say, I guess. There has been a lot going on, but nothing along the lines of babies. Today, the Texas A&M LifeStudy we have been involved in, is over. They don't have anymore funding to do the research. We are sad that we won't get our visits with our nurse anymore, but we know that regardless of the study or not, God will take is right where we need to go. We also feel so bad for these hard working study nurses, because tomorrow they will be unemployed. :( Now, it is time for us to concentrate on what is next for us. After hearing from her at our last meeting that things look to be very normal with both Mike & I from what they can tell based on all kinds ;) of samples. It has been really great for me to reach out to people via FB and this blog, I have had so many people contact me to let me know they are supporting me and praying for my journey. It's amazing how many people are going through the same things you are, and until you reach out, you would never know. To those that have reached out, told me your stories, and been there to support us, THANK YOU!! At this point, it is time that we take things to the next level. That makes me very nervous. I do not want to hear any bad news, I think it would be very different if I was in a position, career wise, to take time away for appointments, etc. without feeling like I was putting my job in jeopardy. The timing with the study being over and us having to move on, is not the best really. This month is going to be a rough ride at work. I have been on contract since last August. The Royal Bank of Scotland was supposed to hire me after 30 days...well...! They are also in the process of merging with ABN AMRO Bank (the side I work on) and I am the ONLY Executive Assistant on this side. With the merge, they will be looking at any "overlap" and cutting heads. I am hoping and praying that since I support 40% of the office (and there are 4 of us b/w the two companies) that they will not let me go or see me as overlap...also, I am the only one that knows any of the ABN applications/software, etc. Prayers about that would be great, honestly either way, I just want to move on and get out of this "guessing game." I am very grateful to have a job, an income, etc. TRUST ME, I am NOT complaining one bit, but man...when you are trying to have a baby, this day in and day out can really take it's toll on you.

FULL SPEED AHEAD...!!

Well, there hasn't been much to say about the lifestudy lately or us TTC. We sort of put everything on hold. The first month of the study, we had a false alarm. =( Then we were heading to Florida to visit my parents, so we didn't want me to be sick and not enjoy myself, then I found out that my insurance had dropped me b/c my company wasn't paying me. We decided to move on with insurance on our own and I had a bad car accident, where both vehicles involved were totaled on 4-4-09.

As of this week, we have insurance again and the timing couldn't be better b/c Aunt Flo is in town. =) Mike was so cute when I told him I had medical insuranc again. I'm pretty sure his cheeks were hurting b/c he couldn't stop smiling. Now we are full speed ahead.

The study ends in July, unless they extend it, so we are running out of time with this route. If this doesn't work for us, we will be visiting the doctor and seeing what steps we need to take.

I will keep everyone posted on our progress or success!!

Prayer are appreciated.

XOXO-
Jill
